If you asked me which store in the county I frequented the most, hands down in would be our local Piggly Wiggly.
“The Pig”, as it’s affectionately called, is our only local grocery store. What a lovely place it is! Always clean, friendly employees, and usually bustling with locals.
I almost always find myself drawn into a conversation with either a friend I haven’t seen in a while or one of the employees. I love that I can bump into just about anyone there! Just last week I looked up in the produce aisle and there stood my delightful mother-in-law, Hope.
Are there a lot of gluten free or organic options? Nope. Due to limited space, they can only stock what they know they’ll be able to sell. You’ll need to ride on to a bigger town to find those items. Are there 17 different kinds of jerky for sale? You betcha.
Locally owned by Brien and Pam Dill, The Pig is a constant supporter of community events and non-profits. Brien and Pam are truly fantastic people. The younger kids that work there are trained on customer service from Day 1, which is a bit of a rarity these days. I sure hope my kids can work there when they get a little older!
